We are launching the Cape Cod Bluefin Classic, a Bluefin Tuna Only competition inside the existing CCBC! This new bluefin tuna challenge is its own separate tournament with its own points system, set of rules, calcuttas, trophies, and prizes. This new sub-tournament will occupy the same footprint as the existing CCBC (tents, registration, weigh-ins, awards dinner). $500 from each entry will be applied to the cash payout. See the BFT Prizes page for details. The Cape Cod Bluefin Classic is not an IGFA event. It will allow the use of cockpit harpoons and fighting a fish from the rod holder. Boats fishing in this bluefin division will be required to operate within the guidelines of their permits. For a complete rules rundown, please check out the BFT Rules page.

The bluefin tuna fishery has been excellent in mid-July, especially south of Cape Cod and Rhode Island. Boats will have access to a variety of thriving ecosystems from Coxes Ledge to Chatham. Bluefin teams will be allowed to pick 3 days from the 6 allotted tournament fishing days. All boats fishing, regardless of species, can leave from ANY port. They will be required to use the CCBC phone app to start and end their trip (just like always). This simply allows us to monitor which boats are fishing and when. Weigh-ins will be at the Flying Bridge in Falmouth Harbor. See the BFT Schedule page for a complete breakdown of the schedule.

Our goal is to grow the CCBC. We strive to create a fun and exciting atmosphere that is stress-free. This year's event will be donating proceeds to benefit The Fishing Academy, a 20-plus-year-old charitable organization dedicated to taking inner-city youths off the street and on the water fishing. The CCBC will also be donating proceeds to benefit the Billfish Foundation and The Skillie Project. We are always open to hearing new ideas and suggestions.
